Is Google Play Store going to be on BlackBerry 10 OS?

Porting Android apps for BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry PlayBook OS has been easy, Users can even side-load certain Android apps on the devices running on these operating systems


However, gossips are saying that Google's Play Store app marketplace may soon open the door to the world of Android apps for BlackBerry users with BlackBerry 10 in mind.


BlackBerry updated the BlackBerry Runtime for Android apps and Plug-in to be able to run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean apps, it was done with BlackBerry 10.2, it enabled most latest Android apps to work on BlackBerry 10. n4.bb.com reports that BlackBerry is in with Google to bring the Play Store to BlackBerry 10 devices. Images of Play Store running on BlackBerry Z10 popped up on n4bb.com but it later said it was fake

If the gossips are said to be truthful and something good comes out from the talks between the giants and a deal comes into play, BlackBerry would be able to solve the scarcity problem for the BlackBerry 10 app ecosystem, something most company who made late entry into the Android world,including Microsoft's Windows Phone 8.BlackBerry devices based on OS 10 have not been embraced by users the way it was expected causing the company to suffer financial losses, well, access to Play Store may stir appeal amongst users and bring life into the platform.

BlackBerry said it's moving concentration from devices to services and softwares targeted at the government and enterprise segments but its handset business will continue. So with Play store coming into Play, BlackBerry will embrace Android in a big way, keep its 10 OS on which it spent alot of resources and users will be happy
