Samsung refutes report of poor sales of Galaxy Gear smartwatch

Samsung has come out to say on Tuesday that its Galaxy Gear has become the world's most popular smartwatch with sales reaching 800,000 since its launch two months ago defying earlier reports that is has recorded only 50,000 sales.


The South Korean firm said it has surpassed its expectation and it would expand sales promotion for the year- end holiday sales.


Alot of promo has gone into the Gear ranging from collaborations with fashion shows and heavy advertisements.

Tech-reviewer David Pogue has gone to say that the design is 'inconsistent and frustrating' that nobody should buy it....Lol, wahala.

This product marks Samsung's attempt to prove that it is more than just a follower in innovation behind Apple Inc, As Apple is said to be working on  wearable device by the media and analysts.

The price of the product is $300, it works as an accessory to its Galaxy smartphone, with a small OLED screen offering basic functions like photos, hands-free calls and message notifications.

Market expectations on the device have not been so strong, as it has only around 70 dedicated applications.


Samsung said its the most sold wearable watch available in the market place and we plan to expand its availability by expanding mobile devices that work with the Gear which I think it will be a good idea.
