How To Root Sony Xperia Z

The Xperia Z is Sony's flagship phone for this year, and continues the screen size and resolution arms race with its 5in, 1,920x1,080 display. It also has all the specifications you would expect from a high-end smartphone, including a quad-core 1.5GHz processor and a camera with a huge 13-megapixel sensor. The display's Full HD resolution is the same as that of this year's HTC One, but the slightly larger screen size should make text more legible at this resolution. We found we could view web pages in desktop mode and still read all the page's text easily without zooming in. This is a trick that the HTC One also pulls off, but we found the Xperia Z's extra 1/3 inch screen size made reading more comfortable.

Warning:

Users are reporting that NFC is broken after this root method (easy fix by goroh_kun http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39030221#post39030221)
if u had an unlockable bootloader device, after using this method the device will be detected as LOCKED or unlock not possible!!! (to fix this use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39178406#post39178406)

Before Starting Take a Look At This:

Requirements:

Xperia Z with stock Sony JB firmware (as of now tested on: 10.1.D.0.317, 10.1.D.0.322, 10.1.A.1.350)
works on both locked/unlockable bootloaders!
ADB drivers installed ((http://icxperia.com/doomlord/Flashtool-drivers.exe) incase u need to install drivers)
IMPORTANT: if you are using Windows 8 you will need to check (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38878089#post38878089) to allow driver installation
Rooting Toolkit package provided below

Let's Root It:

increase screen timeout to 10 mins: Settings -> Display -> Sleep -> 10 mins

enable USB debugging : Settings -> Developer options -> Enable and Settings -> Developer options -> USB Debugging (check it)
enable install from "unknown sources": Settings -> Security -> Unknown source (check it)
download the rooting toolkit package and save it on C:\
exit all adb requiring apps like PC Suite, PC Companion, Flashtool, etc as they will interfere with the rooting process
extract the ENTIRE contents of the package (and not just one file) to some directory on c:\
once you are ready with all the above connect phone to PC and execute "runme.bat" from the location where the entire contents are extracted
press enter to start the process, as the device is detected the toolkit will start executing steps one by one
keep watching the command prompt and wait for the following to come up "press the button to restore the data in your phone"
at this point look at the device screen, an app will start, select RESTORE data
now u will get "if Restoring data is complete," in the command prompt
at this point open Phone & dial *#*#7378423#*#*
select "Service tests" in your phone operation.
select "Display" (screen will turn white), the toolkit will now start executing some commands
now press power button to turn off screen wait for few seconds and press it power button again (repeat it a few time) till then keep observing the command prompt for outputs
u will see "transfer files to your phone part2", "installing busybox,su,Superuser,etc..." & finally "Cleaning up"
after that the device should automatically reboot
thats it device should now be rooted

Troubleshooting:

if your device has unlockable bootloader then after applying this hack the bootloader status will turn "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"
in that case dont worry the users have reported that doing a repair via SEUS will flash back stock firmware and turn this status to "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" (the same might also be achieved by flashing a stock FTF using FlashTool <yet to be confirmed>)

ROOT WILL BE LOST BY DOING THE ABOVE AND YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE MAY GET WIPED!
SO DO A BACKUP OF APPS & INTERNAL STORAGE ON AN EXTERNAL SDCARD/PC

FAQ:

will this wipe /data
NO. since we are not unlocking the bootloader the /data partition will not be wiped
do i need to unlock bootloader for this to work?
NO.
will i lose Bravia Engine 2 ?
NO.
does rooting without unlocking the bootloader still voids warranty.
Not if you get back on clean Stock ROM

Micromax Funbook Infinty P275

Micromax has been selling android phones and tablets at very low budget ranges. As time passes they get better and better. The funbook range of android tablets have acquired not big but a healthy fan-base.

Micromax Funbook Infinity P275 is a low budget low end android tablet. But this tab packs of some pretty good ammunition in its specs. It features Android 4.0 ICS. Powered by a 1.2 GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, and whats more amazing- a Dual Mali 400 GPU powers all the graphics and 3D Rendering. For such a low price its still a good deal. But the overall UI satisfaction is below average. Let's look at how to root P275.

Funbook Infinity Root Package

Let's Begin:

First Download the root package given above. Extract it on PC

The extracted folder will contain the packages for both Windows and Linux Operating systems.

Now you have to double click on Runme.bat ( For Windows users) or Runme.sh ( For Linux users)

Next , using USB cable connect your tab to PC and enable " USB Debugging" on P275.

On connecting the application will detect the device and will give you three options.

1. Normal

2. Special

3. Unroot

You have to choose Normal

Next follow the on-screen instructions and during the rooting process the application will prompt for data restore.[ in the tab ]

Don't mind the message " Please enter your device encryption password".

Now press "Restore My Data".

Wait for the process to finish and when its completed, it'll give an option "press any key to continue".

Now you have to wait for the device to restart. Never manually restart the tab.

Rooting process is now complete. To check whether rooting was successful search for a SuperSU app on your drawer.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Is the flasgship phone from Samsung's android range. The specs of the device makes it a cute beast. The Samsung Galaxy S4 offers a much improved display, one that is slightly larger than the Samsung Galaxy S3, and with a much higher resolution. The Galaxy S4 features a 1080P HD resolution on a 5-inch display. This is the same resolution as most HDTVs, but in a smaller package.Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, temperature, humidity, gesture. and lots more. It also Features a Octa-Core processor for mind blowing performance.

Warning And Must Read Instructions:

You should be aware that rooting an android device will make its warranty void.
To Regain Warranty incase of any problems Unroot the device
You should download all required drivers- Drivers can be downloaded from below.
- This guide is only for Samsung Galaxy S4 4GLTE I9505 which has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 with 1.9 GHz CPU.
- Only for the Android 4.2.2 XXUAMD2 Jelly Bean build.
- Do not use this for other alaxy S4 I9500 device with Exynos 5 Octa variant.
- Backup all data that you have stored in your device’s internal memory.
- Disable or uninstall the security programs that running in the both devices PC and your smartphone (Antivirus and Firewall) that can interfere with the rooting process.
- Disable the Samsung KIES app installed to your PC.
- Enable USB Debugging option. To do that you should find the Developer Options. If you cannot find these options, open the Settings tab then on the About Phone section tap 7 times on the ‘Build Number’ section.
- Verify the device’s battery and be sure the level of the power charge there is more than 60%, in other ways if you don’t have enough power left in your device’s battery, your device can take a forced power off in the middle of the rooting process.

Odin 3.07

Let's Root:

Download the root firmware file above given, save the file in your PC and after that extract its content and save the content on a new folder.
Download the Odin 3.07 and save it in your PC, after that extract its content into one single folder. If 3.07 didn't work out, use older versions of ODIN.
Power off your S4 , after you downloaded the files and extract them contents,
Now, boot your S4 LTE device into its Download Mode. To do that you need to press and keep holding the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons simultaneous and release them when the Download mode will show on your device’s display.
Now, open the ODIN app from your PC, to do that you need double clicking on the Odin executable file from the ODIN folder created above.
From the Odin interface click PDA button, then browse the ‘CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5? extracted at the first step and load this root file in the ODIN app.
Important: Do not change any default options or settings of the ODIN app and make sure the Re-Partition option is disabled from the ODIN app.
Now, connect your Samsung Galaxy S4 to your Computer using the original USB cord. The ODIN has to display the ‘Added!!’ message. Now your S4 device can receive the rooting file.
Now, from the ODIN app when you’re ready to begin the rooting process, press the ‘Start’ button.
Now wait to complete the rooting process, when the root has been applied on your S4 device the device will take a restart.
After the restart is completed, disconnect the device to the PC and wait to boot in the new rooted Android 4.2.2 XXUAMD2 firmware for the first time.

You Have Successfully Rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE !

"Important: The smartphone should show you, on its display, a red Android logo during the booting process. If this logo doesn’t show then boot your S4 device into the Recovery Mode and follow these below lines:

First power off the S4 device and remove battery. After the 5 seconds passed reinsert the battery in its place.
Boot the S4 smartphone into the Recovery Mode. To do that press and keep holding the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons simultaneous until the Recovery Mode menu is displayed.
From there select the ‘reboot system now’ option and your phone will take a restart. Now wait to boot your smartphone into the normal made.
If you want to install in your Galaxy S4 I9505 device the latest custom ROM available for this model then you need to have installed one Recovery Custom image, for doing that you can download and install the ROM Manager from here and install the CWM Recovery image using this tool.
If you’re not familiar with the CWM Recovery tool and you prefer to install an alternative, then you can download and install the GooManager, and use it to install the TWRP Recovery image.

This guide and all instructions listed here works and are compatible only with the XXUAMD2 firmware update build on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S4 I9505 LTE by Samsung."

First Download " Hebrew Android Development" Form Sourceforge
Download the zip file above and extract to some folder, you should receive a tar file. Open odin 3 (attached) and put the tar file in pda.
Put the device into download mode. (vol down + home + power button, and then click on vol up)
Connect phone to usb and wait for odin detect the device.
Click start.

Follow these steps carefully---

First thing you have to do is install HTC sync on your PC

It can be downloaded from HTC site. This will help to communicate between PC and Device

Next you have to unlock your phone's bootloader

( Go to htcdev.com. From Bootloader section select your device. But HTC explorer isnt listed on the site. No need to worry. Just select "All Supported Models", and follow the steps.)

Now 'ADD A RECOVERY' -

That will allow you to install .zip ROMs. You can access to it in the menu android phones have when booting the phone after removing-inserting the battery and pressing "volume down" and "power" buttons simultaneously. (Other phones have different button combinations).

1. Download this recovery file - HTCa310eRecovery.zip

2. Extract all the files to any place on your PC like E:/explorer

3. Run the recovery.bat with phone in fastboot mode (first option in the "3 android menu" ) and connected with USB.

If you have done all this correctly then you have successfully installed the recovery files.You can now install any compatible .zip ROM or app.

Lets Root It

1. Download this file- Superuser

2. Next place this file in your micro-SD card- any location (doesn't matter)

3. Go into Recovery Mode - ( " Volume Down"+"Power" )

4. install Superuser zip file with the option "install .zip from SD" from the recovery menu.

There you go- Your HTC Explorer Is rooted and is all yours....

Recommended: Install "Link2sd" for moving your apps to SD card. This will help you to move apps to partitioned SD card

How To Repair And Unroot Your Bricked Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 Using ODIN- Flash Stock Rom

Most users of Samsung Galaxy Y have been tired of the boring old looks and dared to venture into new ROMs and styles. Many have successfully transformed their precious device but few experienced problems like losing IMEI/Reception, Messaging, or even bricking.

This method will bring back your stock Galaxy Y and you will be able to try and correct the errors from last encounter. This method is mainly for 'Bricked Users', but those of you who wish to revert back to stock rom, can also try this method. Also Trying This method will bring back your phone to the original factory settings, which means your device will also be unrooted.

Requirements:

Download the packages given in the link below;

ODIN- Galaxy Y

Latest Firmware-Link1 . Link2

Samsung Kies USB Driver- Link1 . Link2

Extract These Compressed Files Using Winrar.

Let's Begin:

Open Odin Folder and run ODIN. ( For Win 7 and 8 users should " Run as Administrator " Option)

Put your phone into download mode. ( Press VOL Down+- Home Button+Power Button). Now it will ask you to press VOL UP button. Press VOL UP

When your phone has entered into download mode, connect it to your PC using USB cable.

Now your device will be detected,( On task manager stop all processes related to kies)

Next we have to select each files from the extracted folder for ODIN.

1. PIT File: Click on the pit file option on ODIN, and now select the PIT file from extracted firmware folder.

2. Bootloader: Select Boot file from extracted folder

3. PDA: select the PDA file from folder

4. PHONE: Be careful in this step, you have to select the MODEM file instead of PHONE file from folder.

5. CSC: Select the GTS5360 named file.

After selecting all files, Press START button on ODIN. The Flashing process will start now. You can see a blue progress bar moving slowly. This shows that the flashing process is being done.

Wait for the process to finish.Make sure the USB cable is plugged in and never disconnect the device while process is going on.

After everything is finished, you can see a green colored bar appearing with PASS printed on it. Now the phone will restart automatically. Allow it to restart.
